Some consider autistic code-switching to be synonymous with autistic masking (Roberts, 2023)
Others, such as Connor McClure, feel the terms are different. He has a great article outlining autistic masking and autistic code-switching

My understanding, at this time, is both autistic masking and autistic code-switching have the potential to be adaptive, but code-switching is more sustainable over time whereas masking is more detrimental (and feels more like hiding your true self). They exist on a continuum and can change over time.
Your article helped me a lot, is there any more related content? Thanks!
Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you.
